Dressing for the weather

Hello Parents,

As summer departs and we prepare for fall, we are learning about what we need to wear to take care of our selves.  It is important for us to remember that the Calgary weather can change a lot throughout the day.  We will be taking advantage of the warm weather when we have it to do activities (such as gym class) outside, so having good running shoes is important.  Having some layers (sweaters for the cooler mornings) is also good.  If possible, labeling your child's clothes can help get lost articles back to them. We do our best to help cue them up to keep things on their hook, but we do have a lost and found that you can always check in the event that they are missing something.

Please take a look at the forecast to know what the weather is going to be.  In the event of light drizzle, we still go outside.  If it is heavy rain, administration will make the call to keep us inside.   CBE policy is that we can go outside and play up to -20 (with a windchill factor), so please dress appropriately for the weather.

Please take a moment with your child to practice putting on, and taking off their warm gear.  Observe how they take their coat off, and help them problem solve if the sleeves are inside out.

Zippers can be a tricky thing to get, but with some daily practice, they should be able to use them independently.
